She was far more capable than Earth’s leaders had accounted for—and they had no idea what she’d do next.

“In this sequel to The Evaporation of Sofi Snow, Weber takes a darker tone, delving into alien abduction, experimentation on children, the machinations of power-hungry politicians, and black-market corruption…this is a well-paced page-turner.” – Kirkus Review

Known as a brilliant mind that could hack humanity’s darkest secrets, seventeen-year-old Sofi Snow is the most wanted teenager alive. She found her way to the icy, technologically brilliant planet of Delon to find Shilo, the brother everyone but Sofi believes is dead.

But as she and Ambassador Miguel partner to find her brother and warn those on Earth of Delon’s dark designs on humanity, Sofi’s memories threaten to overtake her, distorting everything she holds true. She knows the Delonese kept her in a dark, deceptive place . . . and destroyed a portion of her life. Now, the more they discover of Sofi’s past, the more Sofi feels herself unraveling—as each new revelation has her questioning the very existence of reality.

In this harrowing sequel to The Evaporation of Sofi Snow, Sofi and Miguel must trust each other and discover the secrets locked inside Sofi’s mind as the line between what’s real and what they imagine begins to slip away . . . threatening to take humanity with it.

five waysAuthor(s): A. A. Joseph
Publisher: N/A
Price: $2.99       Buy Now!

There are five subjects that are foundational to the Christian walk. They make up the bulk of sermons delivered within the walls of the Church and religious discussions held in the world outside the Church— they are the very substance of the path that defines the Christian walk.
Over the years, this path has been overtaken by weedy overgrowth that amounts to a deeply compromised message.
Five Ways the Church Must Change What It Teaches takes on the job of weeding out all that overgrowth to reveal a clear path for all who seek it.
Chapters include unique insights into the infallibility of the Word of God, the divine meaning of marriage, the true nature of salvation and our place in the universe.

ecclesiastesAuthor(s): Philip Graham Ryken
Publisher: Crossway Books
Price: $2.99       [SALE ENDED EARLY]
Buy Now!

The book of Ecclesiastes is “about life, the way it really is,” writes commentator Philip Ryken. Readers throughout the ages have been drawn to the way it honestly wrestles with the tedium of work, injustices in this life, the ravages of age, and the inevitability of death. But its wisdom, according to Ryken, is in teaching people to trust God with life’s questions even in the midst of struggles.

Pastors, writers, speakers, and students will find this Preaching the Word commentary to be a helpful resource in their teaching and studies. Ryken explores what will happen if we choose the world’s offerings instead of God’s and teaches valuable lessons about what it means to have a God-centered worldview.

Ecclesiastes is the twenty-sixth volume of the Preaching the Word series—noted for its clear exposition, readability, practical application, and unqualified commitment to biblical authority. Ryken’s commentary will not only enrich any individual study of Ecclesiastes but will equip Christian leaders in communicating its universal application to a wide audience.

Onward: Engaging the Culture without Losing the GospelAuthor(s): Russell D. Moore

Keep Christianity Strange.

As the culture changes all around us, it is no longer possible to pretend that we are a Moral Majority. That may be bad news for America, but it can be good news for the church. What’s needed now, in shifting times, is neither a doubling-down on the status quo nor a pullback into isolation. Instead, we need a church that speaks to social and political issues with a bigger vision in mind: that of the gospel of Jesus Christ. As Christianity seems increasingly strange, and even subversive, to our culture, we have the opportunity to reclaim the freakishness of the gospel, which is what gives it its power in the first place.

We seek the kingdom of God, before everything else. We connect that kingdom agenda to the culture around us, both by speaking it to the world and by showing it in our churches. As we do so, we remember our mission to oppose demons, not to demonize opponents. As we advocate for human dignity, for religious liberty, for family stability, let’s do so as those with a prophetic word that turns everything upside down.

The signs of the times tell us we are in for days our parents and grandparents never knew. But that’s no call for panic or surrender or outrage. Jesus is alive. Let’s act like it. Let’s follow him, onward to the future.

White Ghetto: How Middle Class America Reflects Inner City DecayAuthor(s): Star Parker
Publisher: Thomas Nelson
Price: $1.49       Buy Now!

Decaying values. Sexually transmitted diseases.

Fatherless homes. Rampant drug use.

These aren’t just problems for today’s inner cities.

It’s the plight of all America.

Much has been said about Bill Cosby’s incendiary remarks about urban black culture and its “dirty laundry.” But in this provocative book, Star Parker, one of today’s most controversial commentators, goes even further, proving that urban plight simply reveals a decay that is gnawing its way throughout American society as a whole.

The sexual chaos, values disorientation, and social turmoil we see in our inner cities, Parker argues, is just a magnified reflection of the moral collapse happening all over America: in our schools, our churches, our homes. And this slide toward moral decrepitude is all due to a flagrant dismissal of and assault on America’s tried-and-true values. (more…)
