The problem is that many times people begin in FAITH and end in UNBELIEF because they do not see the manifestations of what they BELIEVE for. Even Jesus in his own hometown could not help them because of their UNBELIEF! We need to feed our FAITH, Starve our UNBELIEF, and Attack our DOUBTS! “The blood of JESUS CHRIST His WORD and His mighty name is an antidote to all the subtle seeds of UNBELIEF that Satan would sow in your minds.” “There is nothing impossible with God. All the impossibility is with us because we measure God by the limitations of our UNBELIEF.” “If you have prayed the same prayer ten times before getting results, then you prayed nine times in UNBELIEF!” “Put away all DOUBT. Open your heart to God’s grace, and God will come and place in you an active FAITH.”

A defense of equality among the persons of the Trinity

In response to those complementarian theologians who assert that the Son is eternally subordinate to the Father, the contributors to Trinity Without Hierarchy contend that this view misconstrues the orthodox doctrine of the Trinity and reduces the Son to a lower level of glory and majesty than the Father. Surveying Scripture, church history, and theology, sixteen contributors present a defense of the full and equal authority of all three members of the Trinity while critiquing approaches that border on semi-Arianism. In particular, the creedal confessions of Nicaea are upheld as the historical standard by which any proposed Trinitarian doctrine should be judged.

While some contributors hold complementarian and others egalitarian viewpoints, all agree that Trinitarian relations are not a proper basis for understanding gender roles. Trinity Without Hierarchy is indispensable reading for anyone interested in the current debate over the relationship between Trinitarian theology and the roles of men and women.

2012 Christianity Today Book Award of Merit winner! The Christian worldview proposes answers to the most enduring human questions. But are those answers reliable? In this systematic text, Douglas Groothuis makes a comprehensive apologetic case for Christian theism–proceeding from a defense of objective truth to a presentation of the key arguments for God from natural theology to a case for the credibility of Jesus, the incarnation and the resurrection. Throughout, Groothuis considers alternative views and how they fare intellectually.

Did the Protestant Reformers understand Paul correctly? Has the church today been unduly influenced by Reformation-era misreadings of the Pauline epistles? These questions―especially as they pertain to Martin Luther’s interpretation of the Pauline doctrine of justification―have been at the forefront of much discussion within biblical studies and theology in light of the New Perspective on Paul.
But that leads to another question: Have we understood the Reformers correctly? With that in mind, these essays seek to enable a more careful reading of the Reformers’ exegesis of Pauline texts. Each chapter pairs a Reformer with a Pauline letter and then brings together a historical theologian and a biblical scholar to examine these Reformation-era readings of Paul. In doing so, this volume seeks a better understanding of the Reformers and the true meaning of the biblical text.
