The Yellow One-Eyed Monster by Billy Fix
A rhyming picture book where Billy’s imagination had wrong conclusions. In bed, he covers his head. Should he look? When he looked, his imagination took over. This rhyming picture book story has a few good teaching points.
Bill hated going to bed because it was dark.
He covered his head, but it was too hot and difficult to breathe.
Trembling, Billy tried to see around his bedroom.
Then he saw what looked to be an eye. It was yellow and seemed to dance around the room.
Billy remained motionless and silent as his imagination went wild.
All ends well, but you must read the book to learn more.

People attend funerals for three primary reasons:
1. To remember the life of the deceased.
2. To comfort the people that are grieving.
3. To give hope and cling to what is true.
These three things are also the goals of funeral services. When the goals are accomplished, the results are Memorials to Remember. Few schools, colleges, or seminaries adequately prepare students to participate in or conduct services for the deceased. Author Bill Fix has taught several people how to plan, prepare and conduct funeral services. Pastor Bill has taught in a classroom setting and has now written this book as a resource for accomplishing Memorials to Remember.
This method is not the Liturgical funeral that is required by many houses of faith that have predetermined scriptures, songs, gestures, and methodology.

The Butterscotch Story is a book of true short stories about powerful faith with resolute focus. Butterscotch was a cocker spaniel puppy and is used as a metaphor to describe human behavior.
Butterscotch:
Was cute, curious, and courageous
Was drawn to distractions
Ran away from his master
Overstretched his boundary
Made a wrong turn
Became covered with dirt
Returned to his master
We are all prone to the same cyclic pattern. Or at least, that has been the story of my life. And, I am a pastor. I think most of us have made numerous wrong turns chasing things, thrills, and theories. Searching for, focusing on, and being obedient to the Lord helps interrupt this cyclic pattern of destruction. As people turn to Jesus they find help, and take a spiritual step-up in the trajectory of life.
