Federal thinking is foreign to the modern mind. Federal has come to mean nothing more than centralized or big. Because our federal government has become so uncovenantal, it is not surprising that the original meaning of the word is lost. But federal thinking is the backbone of historic Protestant theology, and the Church needs to recover the covenantal understanding of federal headship. Husbands are to lead their families, taking responsibility for them as covenant heads–as federal husbands.

Reforming Marriage, by this same author, began the discussion of covenant headship. This collection of essays, the Federal Husband, continues that discussion in greater depth, dealing with more specifics of federal husbandry.

Discover the True Meaning of Being Blessed

It’s not easy being a woman. The demands and expectations of us and those we place on ourselves can be overwhelming. While trying to navigate this thing called “life,” have you ever longed for a close friend, confidant, or mentor to walk alongside you and encourage you in Biblical womanhood? Debbie Morris did. And yet even as a young minister’s wife, she found herself without someone to fill this all-important role. So she turned to the Bible. Biblical women such as Eve, Sarah, and Miriam had always fascinated her. But now they also became her friends, sisters, and teachers. Through their stories, the Holy Spirit revealed how their lives—both joys and struggles—weren’t that much different from ours today and how they can teach women today to be a grace-filled, life-giving woman of God.

In The Blessed Woman, Debbie invites you to learn from these women as well. As she shares her own stories and the stories of discerning women in the Bible, she addresses topics such as overcoming insecurity, finding purpose, establishing priorities, letting go, and waiting. The Blessed Woman reminds us of how God longs for every woman to experience His tenderness—and to know the true meaning of being blessed.

THE FAKE COMMISSION is a serious examination of the Great Commission. We live in a day where felt-needs are elevated over Biblical theology among many Christians, ministries and churches. The purpose of this book is to challenge and encourage serious Christian and the church. Without a correct focus on evangelism and missions, one risks a life of self-deception regarding what real Christian service is. This book does not belabor imprecise terms like “balance” or “moderation” when discussing evangelism and good works – it seeks to be Biblical.
When our lives are done, it is the truly Spirit-led obedient believer who will hear:
“Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.” (Matthew 25:21).

A New Testament Church means New Testament snarls.

Prostitution, incest, drunkenness at the Lord’s table, sectarianism, and babble all were problems in Paul’s rag-tag startup church in Corinth. Paul’s letter was a course-correction for many in the church, bringing people back to the Gospel as the basis for right unity, sexual ethics, observation of the sacraments, and worship.

This commentary works through this deep and sometimes confusing letter verse by verse, unpacking the details and making applications. Yes, even on the head coverings.
