Publisher: Moody Publishers
Price: $2.99
Men today are confronted with many different expectations of who they’re supposed to be and what role they should be filling. By looking at history, the clichés of manhood, and what intimacy with God looks like, this short book will help men (and women) rethink what it means to be a man in today’s culture.
Counselor and pastor Rhett Smith works through tough questions like:
How can men look up to role models without following their flaws?
Is it possible to strike a balance between passivity and aggression?
How can men speak up, find intimacy, and take care of others without neglecting themselves?
When Christ calls us to follow Him, He paves a path that is different than our cultural expectations, a path that leads us to a relationship with Him and to true knowledge of what it means to be a man.

The new atheists are on the warpath. They come armed with arguments to show that belief in God is absurd and dangerous. In the name of societal progress, they promote purging the world of all religious practice. And they claim that people of faith are mentally ill. Some of the new atheists openly declare their hatred for the Judeo-Christian God.
Christian apologists have been quick to respond to the new atheists’ arguments. But there is another dimension to the issue which begs to be addressed–the root causes of atheism. Where do atheists come from? How did such folks as Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, Daniel Dennett, and Christopher Hitchens become such ardent atheists? If we are to believe them, their flight from faith resulted from a dispassionate review of the evidence. Not enough rational grounds for belief in God, they tell us. But is this the whole story?
Could it be that their opposition to religious faith has more to do with passion than reason? What if, in the end, evidence has little to do with how atheists arrive at their anti-faith? That is precisely the claim in this book. Atheism is not at all a consequence of intellectual doubts. These are mere symptoms of the root cause–moral rebellion. For the atheist, the missing ingredient is not evidence but obedience.
The psalmist declares, “The fool says in his heart there is no God” (Ps. 14:1), and in the book of Romans, Paul makes it clear that lack of evidence is not the atheist’s problem. The Making of an Atheist confirms these biblical truths and describes the moral and psychological dynamics involved in the abandonment of faith.

Author(s): Charles H. Dyer
Publisher: Moody Publishers
Price: $2.99
‘The Bible is not a sterile Book immaculately conceived in some sort of mystical, holy vacuum. Though God is the ultimate Author, He used human writers as His instruments. And to interpret properly His Word we must enter their world. The bleating of sheep on barren hills, the mournful wail of a ram’s horn trumpet on the temple steps, the harsh clang of sword hitting sword in epic battle hang like tapestries in the background of every page.’ – Excerpt from A Voice in the Wilderness. Life’s struggles can make us feel as if we’re wandering in the desert, thirsty for hope and healing. Using Isaiah 40 as a backdrop, best-selling author Charles Dyer takes us on a journey through ancient Judea for a vivid reminder that others before us have known suffering – and, just as God was present for them in their pain, He will walk with us through our wilderness.

Author(s): Gerald W. Peterman
Publisher: Moody Publishers
Price: $3.99
This book presents a biblical and practical look at Christians and their emotions, building off of the concept that most contemporary Christians have misconceptions about why we have emotions and how we should handle them.
Trusting God doesn’t mean being consistently tranquil or subdued. Truth is, such a view makes life flat and two dimensional. We often forget that emotions are a gift; to fear them or stow them away would be to deny a huge part of what makes us human. This book explores the significance of the gift and the benefits of living a robust life of thought, action, and feeling. Illuminating the emotional life of Christ and his followers, As Dr. Gerald Peterman asks:
If I’m forgiven, why do I feel guilt and shame?
What about anger? What if I’m angry with God?
What is the place of sadness in the Christian life?
Is love only an action?
Emotions don’t just happen to us like the virus or the flu, they are inherently part of us. Readers will find that the discussion extends beyond “good” and “bad”, as many emotions are neutral and it is up to them to figure out how to glorify God with them. Extended chapters on love and anger are included.
