Since 2005, we’ve seen an unprecedented number of church planters called by God to serve in the Canadian province of Quebec, as well as a new openness to the gospel among the people. This is hugely significant because Quebec and the Quebecois people represent the largest unreached people group in North America. (For comparison, consider that there are more Christians per-capita in Egypt than in Quebec.) Quebec’s unique religious and cultural history provide both daunting challenges and exciting opportunities for the spread of the gospel. Building on the legacy of the twentieth-century missionaries who first brought the gospel into Quebec, our twenty-first-century movement seeks to continue this work by seeing Quebec completely saturated and transformed by the good news of Jesus’ finished work through community evangelism, leadership development, missional church planting, and church revitalization.–“I mention the Stegners when I talk to people about what living a healthy family life on mission looks like.
