Still reeling from the recent tragic loss of her fiance, Aria Chambers is hoping for a peaceful Christmas in her small town of Anderson Crossroads, Nebraska. But when she comes home after the annual church Christmas program to find that her house has been broken into, those hopes seem to vanish like melting snow. She calls the police and is surprised by a familiar face as Trevor Mason responds, pulling up in his squad car. Under different circumstances, the reunion might have rekindled a spark between them, but the burglary has set them both on edge: they realize that whoever broke into Aria’s home is still lurking somewhere inside. Refusing to wait outside alone, Aria follows Officer Mason as he begins to clear the house.

After a tense confrontation, both Aria and Officer Mason begin to realize that the danger goes far beyond what seems at first to be a simple home invasion. Aria’s brother, Marcus, (who has had plenty of his own brushes with the law), has gotten in way over his head and has brought the danger right to Aria’s doorstep. Some very shady Washington players are desperate to recover the evidence against them that Marcus has in his possession. It quickly becomes apparent that they will stop at nothing in order to keep their secrets safe, which includes a willingness to eliminate anyone who gets in their way.

In a breathlessly perilous game of cat and mouse, Aria and Officer Mason must keep one step ahead of their enemies, all while seeking to ensure that those behind this Christmas conspiracy do not escape justice. It may be Christmas time, but that doesn’t mean that every person in Anderson’s Crossroads is out to spread good will.
