The Dominion of Sin and GraceAuthor(s): John Owen
Publisher: GLH Publishing
Price: $2.99       Buy Now!

This lesser known work by John Owen is related to his works ‘The Mortification of Sin’, ‘Spiritual-Mindedness’, ‘On Indwelling Sin’, and ‘Temptation’. It specializes in examining whether a life is lived under the dominion of sin or grace, whether one is a sinner who has grace active and fighting in their life or one who merely makes a show of grace but is really under the bondage of sin.

Systematic TheologyAuthor(s): Louis Berkhof
Publisher: GLH Publishing
Price: $2.99       Buy Now!

Professor Berkhof died in 1957, at the age of 83. He was an outstanding American teacher and the author of some 22 books. After two pastorates, he began his long career as professor at Calvin Seminary, Grand Rapids, in 1906. Here he remained for 38 years, devoting his talents and immense stores of knowledge to the training of men for the ministry. His ‘Systematic Theology’ was his magnum opus, being revised and enlarged during his lifetime until it reached its present final form. Berkhof’s loyalty to the well-defined lines of the Reformed Faith, his concise and compact style and his up-to-date treatment have made this work the most important twentieth century compendium of Reformed Theology. ‘The work seemed particularly important to me’, writes the author, ‘in view of the widespread doctrinal indifference of the present day, of the resulting superficiality and confusion in the minds of many professing Christians, of the insidious errors that are zealously propogated even from the pupits, and of the alarming increase of all kinds of sects.

The BeauttitudesAuthor(s): Arthur W. Pink
Publisher: GLH Publishing
Price: $0.99       Buy Now!

Christ’s first preaching seems to have been summarized in one short but crucial sentence, like that of John the Baptist before Him: “Repent ye: for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 3:2; 4:17). It is not appropriate in a brief study such as this to discuss that most interesting topic, the Kingdom of heaven—what it is and what the various periods of its development are—but these Beatitudes teach us much about those who belong to that Kingdom, and upon whom Christ pronounced its highest forms of benediction.

On the IncarnationAuthor(s): Athanasius

On the Incarnation with an introduction by C.S. Lewis

By any standard, this is a classic of Christian theology. Composed by St. Athanasius in the fourth century, it expounds with simplicity the theological vision defended at the councils of Nicaea and Constantinople: that the Son of God himself became “fully human, so that we might become god.” Its influence on all Christian theology thereafter, East and West, ensures its place as one of the few “must read” books for all who want to know more about the Christian faith.
